"Geometrical interlacing is made up of a multitude of geometrical stars, the rays of which join into an intricate and endless pattern. It is a most striking symbol of that contemplative state of mind which conceives of ‘unity in multiplicity and multiplicity in unity’ (al-wahdatu fil-kathrati wa-l-kathratu fil-wahdah)." Titus Burckhardt (1987)

This is one of two artworks originating from a geometry construction that follows Rajen Astho's 2016 analysis and layout (see also artwork 003). The palette of paynes gray, blue apatite genuine and Mayan dark blue was inspired by frosty nights and scenes of frozen rivers and lakes near my studio home in the north of the Netherlands.
